My name is Matea, and I’ve been writing ever since I learned how to write.
For me, writing was never just a hobby – it has always felt like a calling.
I am a journalist, but also a dreamer with a notebook always within reach.

I love fairy tales, especially the worlds created by Tove Jansson – quiet, slightly melancholic stories where nature feels alive and human relationships even more so.
I’m a little clumsy, yet organised. I love to daydream, even though my feet are firmly on the ground.

Some might find me strange.
I would simply say – I am who I am.
Not necessarily eager to fit into moulds, but deeply happy in my own world, surrounded by my people.

When I’m not writing, you’ll most likely find me:

✧ reading books – especially melancholic ones, filled with magical descriptions of mystical nature and even more mystical human connections

I love travelling. It inspires my writing.
But truth be told – everything inspires me to write.
My couch.
A corner of a café.
Rain and sunshine.
The sea and the snow.

This is a space where I gather those inspirations, fragments, thoughts and stories – and let them find their place on paper.
